Run Pace Calculator
I use the pace calculator called VDOT, a proxy for your VO2max created by world-famous Olympian and track coach, Jack Daniels.
While your VDOT number is a great way of tracking fitness improvements over time, It is really useful that it can produce the paces and race equivalents.
Using the Calculator
-
Start by entering your event distance. (DO NOT INPUT a goal time for a future event. Input a time of a most recent event or baseline test. The paces will be more accurate to allow progress and appropriate load.
-
Then enter either your time or pace and hit “calculate.”
-
Click through the resultant tabs to see the various paces and equivalencies for training.
